Found it on another board. C&P'ed. It said that was the first 7 games.

btw....there are two new Mastodon songs on their myspace page. Good stuff.

There non-conference schedule is a joke. The AD must have been on crack to make a schedule like this with the importance of strength of schedule. Must have been during their probation period and he expected them to get in more trouble and it didn't matter who they played they wouldn't be in the hunt for a major bowl game anyway.

To try to make it up to you for bringing up that horrendous schedule, biggin, I thought I'd post this for you...

    Re:Leroy Jordan

The Bear had a first-day tradition. He'd have assistant coaches put 8 or 9 footballs in one end zone. In those days there'd be about 150 players there on the first day. He'd stand in the other end zone and tell the assembled team "When I blow this whistle, I want every one of you to go down to the other end of the field and bring me a football. There are no rules, just bring me a football."

When he blew the whistle, Armageddon broke out. Fights, blindside hits, pile-ons, dirty deeds, etc. It would usually take some time before any player made it all the way back with a ball.

The year Leroy was a Frosh, he brought the Bear four footballs. If he wanted your football, you were dead meat. If he had a ball, it was not worth your time to try to take it. The Bear's comment: "Just show up at the games, son. Don't worry about anything else." Legend has it that Leroy rarely practiced during his time at Bama.

Looks like Jim Weaver and Frank Beamer made this non-conference schedule! It's called "scheduling for success"!!
